Terminal CT-240

1. General information about good

Terminal Ñ̉-240 (in future terminal) is the personal computer with 386/486/Pentium processor on board without the devices of external memory.

Functioning of terminal is carried out under a management of OS UNIX (FREEBSD 2.2.5). It is loaded after the turning on the feed automatically from ROM emulation board, which set in a system block. A ROM is realized on a Flash-memory that allows easily to change configuration and functions of terminal.

The work under the management of OS UNIX allows to use the wide spectrum of equipment and protocols of a transport and applied level and also easily to modify the functions of terminal for work in different applications.

In base configuration a terminal is enable to work throught the SLIP-connection, PPP-connection on a modem line in the distributed networks (as a variant it is possible to work on a current loop and null-modem line) and Ethernet in local networks. It is possible to use the protocols of Telnet and Rlogin as protocols of application layer the in base configuration.

A terminal has built-in printer and cash register driver and also supports the Roman, Ukrainian and Russian alphabets.

There is a variant of terminal working as a router in large computer networks.

Physical connection of the terminal to a computer network is possible via:

  • interface RS232 (directly or throught the modem);
  • interface IRPS (with the use of build-in transformer of interface);
  • interface Ethernet (10BASE-T, 10BASE-2).

The following cash registers could be connected to the terminal: MINI-600ME, DATECS-MP500, SAMSUNGER-250FBG01UA, SAMSUNGER-350F-UA.

2. General technical information

2.1. General descriptions:

  • processor type - 386/486/Pentium;
  • RAM, 2 Mb at least;
  • interface of connection with a computer network – RS232 (null-modem or full-modem connection) / IRPS (current loop – 20 mA) / Ethernet (10BASE-T, 10BASE-2);
  • interface of connection with cash register  –  RS232 or IRPS (current loop – 20 mA);
  • interface of connection with printer – CENTRONICS;
  • data rate:
    • via RS232 interface – up to 115200 bps;
    • via IRPS interface – up to 38400 bps;
    • via Ethernet interface – up to 10 Mbps;

2.2. The feed of terminal is carried out from the network of alternating current frequency 50/60Hz and by tension 220V  +10/-15%. The consumption of terminal from the network of alternating current depends on the type of system block and using monitor type and does not exceed 200 Watts as a rule.

2.3. A terminal is intended for exploitation in the followings climatic terms:

  • temperature of surrounding air - 25 ±10 °C;
  • relative humidity - 60 ±15 %;
  • atmospheric pressure – from 84 to 107 Kpascal.

3. Complete set of delivery

In the the complete set of delivery is included:

1. System block which include:

  • MINITOWER case (the type of corps can be changed on a concordance with a customer) – 1 item;
  • Mainboard with the processor 386/486/Pentium with the 2 Mb of RAM – 1 item;
  • Input-output controller (if it is need) – 1 item;
  • Videocontroller SVGA/256 Kb – 1 item;
  • Card of terminal emulation – 1 item.

2. Mono SVGA or color SVGA monitor – 1 item.

3. PC AT keyboard – 1 item.

4. Passport – 1 item.

It is possible to set the Ethernet-card and multiports in the terminal depending on the demand of customers (executions: full-modem, null-modem, current loop).

4. Directions of development

The use of OS UNIX allows easily to extend and change the functions of terminal. There following examples show the possibility of use of the terminal:

  • Work of the terminal in the X-Windows environment (if local network is present);
  • Use of the terminal for work as a terminal server;
  • Use of the terminal for work as a network print-server;
  • Use of the terminal for work as a proxy-server;

It is possible to set to a terminal the functions of the user authentification functions of firewall and also functions of work on a switched public-call lines as a dial-up IP sluice in Internet.
